This year many of my friends seem to be pregnant. Announcement of gender reveals and upcoming baby showers keep popping up on Facebook. When there are babies, there will be baby blankets.
This baby blanket was made for a co-worker. It features alphabet blocks that my co-worker painted in fabric paints (Cameo paints) when she was pregnant with her first child. Now her first child is expecting his first.
When my coworker presented me with the blocks, she wanted to keep the colors neutral and was thinking either green or yellow. I perused the fabric store and sent her a few options. Here’s the fabrics we considered:
She chose orange and yellow. I love both colors and was really happy because the bright colors made the quilt more lively. Here’s a side-by-side of what I started with and what we ended with. I think it turned out great.
